This emotional intelligence course was created by a Columbia University MFA student for children 4 through 10 years old, to support and grow their ability to identify, express, and control their emotions. Teaching children about the skills that build emotional intelligence helps them identify their feelings so they can better solve challenges, communicate with others, and make decisions using critical thinking. In this course, Ms. Sarah will teach young learners six different skills to help them become more emotionally intelligent: zest, curiosity, gratitude, optimism, self-control, and grit. Ms. Sarah will assign one project each class that highlights one emotional intelligence skill. Take a picture of each completed project your child completes and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. If your child completes all seven projects, they will earn their digital prize!
