Sometimes we feel happy, sometimes we feel sad, or lonely, which means that you wish someone else was with you. Sometimes we feel sleepy or anxious, which means we feel nervous or afraid about something that might happen in the future. And what do we do if we feel two or three emotions all at once?
Well, during this session, we’re going to talk about how we can identify what we're feeling and we'll even make an emoji feelings wheel to help us show others all the emotions we may be experiencing at one time!
It's important to identify our emotions because sometimes, when we’re not aware of how we’re feeling or why we’re feeling that way, it’s a lot more difficult to manage how we behave!
Sometimes we experience more than one feeling at a time, which can be confusing, but that is ok!
All emotions tell us something about ourselves, and all emotions are helpful, even the big and overwhelming ones.
And the better we become at recognizing them, the more we’re able to work with our feelings, not against them!
When you identify and name a negative feeling you’re experiencing, it can actually help you feel better.
