There are so many benefits of mindfulness, both inside and outside of a classroom. Scientists have discovered that when we practice mindfulness, we are better able to pay attention to our teachers and friends, we are less stressed, and we are even more optimistic!
So, we're going to learn mindfulness by creating art! And the art projects we’ll be working on together will help us learn to focus on our breathing and identify the many feelings we may be experiencing! We’ll also work to strengthen our self-expression and creativity by creating art that celebrates who we are and what we’re capable of achieving.
Mindfulness means being aware of how you’re feeling and what you’re thinking right now.
Being mindful of our thoughts and actions can help us regulate our emotions, which is a fancy way of saying that we can change how we react to something that makes us upset or frustrated.
The art projects we’ll be working on together are going to help us practice mindfulness by focusing on our breathing and identify all the feelings we may be experiencing!
At the end of each session, we'll be working on a very exciting mindfulness art projects and if you complete every single project and you work really hard, you'll get to pick out a prize at the end of the course that Dearest will send to you!
